Sprint U.S. Grand Prix Opens with Slopestyle Qualifiers

COPPER MOUNTAIN, CO (Jan. 9) – The Sprint U.S. Grand Prix opened its 17th season with slopestyle qualifiers at Copper Mountain today. The newly added Olympic sport of slopestyle snowboarding saw over 100 athletes from 37 countries at the first domestic FIS World Cup of the year and 5Star World Snowboard Tour event. Fan favorites Chas Guldemond (Reno, NV) and Eric Willett (Breckenridge, CO) both made it to finals, that takes place on Friday. The weekend will be televised on both NBC and the NBC Sports Network, plus live coverage of halfpipe finals on the USSA Network.
