PARK CITY, UT (March 19) – The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) announced today that M. Alex Natt, Esq. has been named executive vice president and general counsel. Natt has provided counsel to the USSA since 1997 and served as USSA in-house counsel from 2001 to 2008. Natt will be responsible for all USSA legal matters while also implementing the governance findings of the McKinsey Study, commissioned by the USSA in 2012-13 to evaluate the way support is delivered to athletes and parents through USSA clubs and development programs nationwide. He will also provide counsel for overall USSA business operations.
The USSA announced that M. Alex Natt, Esq. will be joining the organization as executive vice president and general counsel.
Natt previously worked for the USSA as staff counsel from 2001 to 2008 and has provided legal counsel since 1997. Most recently, he worked in the Park City office of the Jones Waldo Holbrook and McDonough law firm.
A key part of Natt’s role will include the implementation of business and governance findings from the McKinsey Study conducted in 2012-13 to evaluate the way support is delivered to athletes and parents through USSA clubs and development programs nationwide.
Natt will also be responsible for managing litigation challenges, licensing and marketing agreements, prosecuting and protecting USSA's intellectual property, interfacing with USOC and FIS legal representatives, and drafting internal policies and procedures.
Natt and his wife Galen reside in Park City where he enjoys alpine skiing, snowboarding and tries without great success to master the telemark turn.
