Watching Audi FIS World Cup on Universal Sports The 2012-13 FIS Alpine World Cup Ski Season has officially arrived and Universal Sports Network is your championship home for winter sports action all season long! With all of the inquires into our coverage, we wanted to take this opportunity to update you on our current distribution efforts.
Since the beginning of 2012, we have been working to finalize distribution deals with TV providers under our new business model. This effort is on-going and we are working as hard as we can to provide access to fans of our Skiing and Olympic Sports coverage. We know that many of you can’t get the channel right now, and we share your disappointment and frustration. Our situation is a reflection of the demands of the TV industry, and USN must follow these rules in order to bring content to our viewers.
NBC Universal and Comcast own a non-controlling minority share in Universal Sports and we operate independent of them. We are not considered a NBC Channel. This is why we negotiate with distributors like Comcast as any other network, and why it is important for viewers to contact their providers and demand USN in their channel line-up. We know that many of you have already called your providers to request the network, and we really appreciate the support.
Currently, Universal Sports Network is offered on DIRECTV and Dish as part of their sports packages. If you subscribe to one of these providers you will have on-air and online access to our 170+ hours of Skiing and Snowboarding coverage. If you don’t have DIRECTV or Dish, we can assure you that we are working very hard to bring Universal Sports to more distributors.
If you want to contact your provider directly to tell them you want Universal Sports, below is contact information for providers we are currently working to secure deals with:
