Mueller-Ristine Closing YOG Flag Bearer

INNSBRUCK, Austria (Jan. 21) - Aspen Ski and Snowboard Club athlete Julia Mueller-Ristine (Aspen, CO) was selected as flag bearer for Team USA at the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games, which takes place upon completion of competition Sunday in Innsbruck. The 16-year-old was selected as flag bearer following a nomination and voting process by the U.S. athletes.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Julia Mueller-Ristine was voted by her peers to carry the U.S. flag at the Winter Youth Olympic Games Closing Ceremony
  • The event will take place Sunday evening in Innsbruck following the final competition
  • Mueller-Ristine competed in four events at the Youth Olympic Games – super G, super combined, giant slalom and slalom
  • Her best finishes came in slalom (12th) and super combined (17th)
  • In addition, the Aspen High School junior got to meet her idol Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) during the Games
