Fletcher Top USA in Penalty Race

LILLEHAMMER, Norway (Nov. 25) - Bryan Fletcher (Steamboat Springs, CO) soared to 19th in the jump and held on to finish 22nd in a FIS Nordic Combined World Cup penalty format race in Lillehammer. Norway's Magnus Moan won. In the format, skiers are assigned penalty laps based on their points back in the jump. The World Cup now heads to Kuusamo, Finland for a single large hill event next weekend.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Bryan Fletcher (Steamboat Springs, CO) was 19th in the jump and finished 22nd overall in a FIS Nordic Combined World Cup in Lillehammer.
  • Fletcher's 19th place finish in the jump netted him three penalty laps. He was the only American to make the cut after the jump.
  • Norway's Magnus Moan, who was sixth in the jump but fastest in cross country, took the win while skiing two penalty laps.
  • The World Cup now heads to Kuusamo, Finland.
