Junior World Championships
The Junior World Championships (JWC) may be held annually as determined by the FIS. The size of the quota will vary depending upon the event and will be determined by the FIS. These championships provide a unique opportunity for the best junior freestyle skiers in the world to compete together. JWC are important competitions in the development of future World Cup contenders. See new information below!!
2015 FIS FREESTYLER/FREESKIING JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS March 22- April 2, 2015 Valmalenco, ITA
Aerials, Moguls/Dual Moguls - Four (4) athletes per gender per discipline will be selected by criteria below in order of importance. Moguls and Dual Moguls is considered one Team, athletes qualified for singles will also ski in duals.
1. Current U.S. Freestyle Ski Team: A, B, or C Team members in aerials and moguls. Ties will be broken by:
a. Team Status
b. Best World Cup finish during the 2014-15 season
c. Current ranking in the 2014-15 World Cup Standings list within the relevant discipline
d. Current ranking in the most recent USSA Freestyle/Freeskiing points list within the relevant discipline
2. Current Junior World Champion or International Youth Champion (if age eligible) in aerials, moguls, dual moguls.
3. Most current Junior National Champion (if age eligible) in aerials and single moguls in the qualification period.
4. The remainder of the aerial and moguls/dual moguls fields will be filled from the USSA Freestyle/Freeskiing Aerials and single Moguls Jr. Worlds points list printed March 3rd, 2015. The minimum qualification for aerials is two different qualified inverted maneuvers that have been performed on snow. The aerial degree of difficulty at JWC will be limited to double somersaults only.
