We are a small club on a great mountain. We train alongside the Middlebury College Ski Team and host races that they participate in.

We seek a new U18-U16 coach with technical coaching skills and any and all race administrator help that is available.

For a small club, we pay extremely well and the commitment is quite minimal. Coaches work vacations and weekends, AO staff work about 11 days a winter.

Kimball Union Academy is currently seeking 2 assistant coaches for the Alpine Ski Team for the 2015-16 season. Assistants will work under the direction of Head Alpine Coach, Christine Booker.

Positions:

 Assistant I: Seasonal full-time position for the winter months (approximately 10 weeks) with possibility of early December 10-day camp.

 Assistant II: Part-time position for the winter months (approximately 10 weeks) 1 or 2 afternoon practice sessions/per week, and some weekend races or training.

Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities include assisting with day-to-day operation of the program: athlete development, equipment management, course setting, travel, video and feedback on the hill.

Skills/ Qualifications

Successful candidates will have a strong background in alpine ski racing, and knowledge of current equipment and modern technology. He or she will be a good communicator and will have a record of working well with others. Candidates should have a valid drivers license and clean driving record. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Remuneration

The Salary for Assistant I will start at $7,500 and may increase depending on qualifications of the applicant. The position is not eligible for the Kimball Union's benefits program.

The salary for Assistant II will start at $3000, with possibility for more if applicant has more availability. The position is not eligible for the Kimball Union's benefits program.

Sundown Ski Team (New Hartford, Connecticut) is seeking coaches for its U10-U19 youth racing program for the 2015-16 season. This position runs from mid-December through mid-March, 3 days per week (weekends and one night midweek) with a holiday camp in late December. There is some flexibility regarding individual schedules. SST athletes compete in the Connecticut Youth Ski League (CYSL), Tri-State Alpine Ski Racing Association (TSASRA), and USSA Eastern regional post-season events.

Team Afton

Team Afton is seeking enthusiastic and professional heavy part-time (Oct-Mar) coaches to lead its competitive youth programs (USSA, Rising Stars, ARC, and other related programs) ages U8-U18, for the 2015/2016 season. These are Afton Alps Ski and Ride School programs designed to teach fundamentals of skiing in various race-bred formats. Candidates will be required to demonstrate and deliver advanced skiing and ski racing techniques in an enthusiastic manner to these  groups (numbering 400+ eager athletes). Candidates should have high level racing and/or coaching experience (USSA and/or PSIA certification preferred) with tasks including but not limited to ski equipment maintenance/preparation, video analysis, timing, strength and conditioning. Candidates must be able to travel regionally, and in some cases nationally.

Team Afton is a large competitive youth program run out of Afton Alps in Minneapolis/St.Paul, MN. Boyne Flyers & Team Elite Alpine Development Coach – Boyne Highlands Resort

Part-time, seasonal position open in Boyne Highlands SnowSports Academy. Alpine Development Coach will report to Boyne Flyers & Team Elite Head Coach. Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)

• Must possess interest in building great skiers within a junior development program of children from ages 7-12.
• Must possess ability to coach from mid-December through February, with the possibility of extending into March. Coaching Saturdays and possibly Sundays throughout the period will be required.
• Familiarity with basic video analysis, introduction to technique and tactics, and management of terrain in accordance with skill levels required.
• Must possess the ability to motivate children while also maintaining a safe and fun environment.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with athletes and parents in a professional manner, both in written and verbal forms.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Must be level 100 USSA coach or Level 1 PSIA certified instructor or the ability to achieve one of these designations before the December holiday period. Multiple certification opportunities available. Experience in coaching or instruction preferred but not required. Any necessary pre-season training will be provided mid-December on-site at Boyne Highlands. Wage is commensurate with experience and certification levels. Pre-season training will not substitute certification.

  • Lead skills progressions and drills, both freeskiing and in gates, 4-5 days per week including Friday through Sunday 
  • Develop and lead special events, including holiday camps, that assist in the achievement of program goals
  • Effectively communicate with athletes and parents in a professional manner both written and verbal, including periodic newsletters throughout the season

Tahoe Cross Country is seeking head coach for Junior Development & Competitive Team.The Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association (TCCSEA) program is seeking a Head Coach to work with its Nordic Junior Development and Competition Team, serving primarily middle school and high school age racers. Mt. Hood Academy trains athletes from ages 5-20. Beginning racers through F.I.S athletes are served by weekend programs through a full-time Academy program.

Mt. Hood Academy’s accredited school provides FIS, U16, and Advanced U14 athletes with a flexible school and training opportunities Wednesdays through Sundays. Training is conducted at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl and Timberline ski areas, with full support for racing and race training.

Coaching Duties: Responsibilities include coaching athletes, supporting learning opportunities for coaches, working with the Academy school program, and working with families.

Coaches the MAC Alpine Ski Team Prep Program under the direction Ski Program Coordinator & Head Ski Coach. Teaches skiing fundamentals and alpine racing technique and tactics to their group of athletes in a season long progression. Seeking applicants with a current professional certification from PSIA and/or USSA, or has an experienced background in teaching skiing and/or race coaching. Prep Program Coaches work with the same group of skiers in a multi-week group lesson setting for a total of 15-18 days on snow, over 15 weeks. A Professionally Certified Ski Instructor who is looking to develop young skiers over the course of a season would make the ideal candidate. Previous competitive ski team coaching experience required. Mammoth Ski and Snowboard Team, CA MMSST is looking for Freeski, Snowboard and Alpine Coaches for all levels of their programs. Full-time and Part-time positions are available working with athlete just beginning their journey through the pipeline to the elite level in all disciplines.  

Coaches who join the Mammoth Team will be asked to:

- Provide safe, fun and interesting training sessions for athletes of varying ages and skill levels.

- Work with other coaches to design, implement, evaluate and adjust season-long training and competition plans.

- Teach by example with frequent demonstrations.

- Maintain accurate daily journals of training activities.

- Maintain frequent contact with parents on athletic, behavioral and academic issues.

- Assist in team trips to other areas for competitions where appropriate.

- Promote MMSST Team Philosophy and act as role model for athletes.

Requirements:

- PSIA/AASI Certification or USSA/USASA is preferred for most positions but not required for all.

- Experience working with young athletes is preferred.

- High School graduate and fluent in the English language.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Ability to work in a team structure with other coaches and training groups.

- Must possess the ability to demonstrate basic skiing and snowboarding techniques.

- Basic computer skills required and experience with Word, Excel and Google Docs programs preferred.

Wage:

- Negotiable and dependent upon certification and years of experience.
