The Sundown Ski Team (SST), racing out of Ski Sundown in New Hartford, Connecticut, is seeking alpine race coaches for its U10-U19 alpine racing program for the 2016-17 season. This seasonal position runs from mid-December through mid-March, 2-3 days per week (training occurs 3 days per week with a holiday camp in late December). There is flexibility regarding individual coaching schedules depending on individual availability. SST athletes compete in the Connecticut Youth Ski League (CYSL), Tri-State Alpine Ski Racing Association (TSASRA), and USSA Eastern regional post-season events.

 Job Responsibilities:

Race coach assigned to coach athletes age 7- 13 in a 14 week program.  This is a seasonal position/weekends and holiday camp.

 Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Be knowledgeable in the principles and application of alpine ski racing, and the ability to demonstrate and communicate that knowledge clearly and positively.
  • Be able to maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Be enthusiastic and outgoing.
  • Accept all assignments with equal enthusiasm.
  • Be professional and knowledgeable in all aspects of Jiminy peak, including but not limited to lodging, food and beverage, and lifts.
