The Audi Ski Challenge is a ski racing competition that brings together local ski racing fans in support of Audi and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. Each event is held at a domestic U.S. Ski Team event and is open to the public. The top male and female winner from each stop will win an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime trip to race with the U.S. Ski Team at the U.S. Alpine Championships.

 

Rules

The Audi Ski Challenge is a dual giant slalom race with each competitor racing both the red and blue course. Racers without a bib will not be allowed to race.

The two winners (one male and one female) will be determined from the best time from either course of his/her best run. The fastest female time and fastest male time will win the grand prize. The winners will be notified via phone or email and awarded their at the Audi display in Gondola Plaza at 2:30 p.m. The winners must be present at the awards to receive details of their prize.

Prizes

Audi and the U.S. Ski Team will award the following prizes to the top two winners from Vail, Aspen, the Canyons, and Squaw Valley:

  • Official 2012/13 Ski Team Jacket
  • Three night lodging at the U.S. Alpine Championships (March 20–24, 2013)
  • VIP experience provided by the U.S. Ski Team
    • VIP pass—Three days of skiing, access to all VIP functions
    • Including early lift access to ski with U.S. Ski Team athletes
    • Meet and greet with members of the 2012/13 U.S. Alpine Ski Team
    • VIP gift bag

Each winner will be allowed to bring one guest to the U.S. Alpine Championships. For the official rules, click here.

Registration and Check In

Online registration open until Thursday, January 10, 2013. All events are open and free to the public. However, each race will have a 150-competitor maximum.

To register, download and fill out the Waiver and Release of Liability form and the Registration form. Email the completed forms to audiskichallenge@ussa.org.

On-site registration will be at the Gondola Plaza on Friday, January 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday, January 12 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.

Friday, January 11, 2013

9 a.m.–5 p.m.

Audi registration and bib pickup at Gondolza Plaza. Bring bibs to ticket window for discounted lift ticket on day of race.

Saturday, January 12, 2013

9:00–10:00 a.m.

Audi registration and bib pickup at Gondolza Plaza. Bring bibs to ticket window for discounted lift ticket.

11 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

First and second runs, switching courses for each run on NASTAR course (Silver Dip Swing).

Racers can take their runs anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

 

Prizes will be awarded immediately following the race at the Audi display in Gondola Plaza. Race results and age group winners will be posted in the Audi tent at Gondola.
