Taylor Gold has posted a slew of impressive results over the last three years. Revolution Tour wins led to major league invites to marquee events like 2013 X Games Tignes and the Burton US Open.
In 2014 Gold went from rookie rider to big-time contender over night. Gold came into the season with an Olympic honed focus, kicking off the season with a third-place finish at the first Olympic qualifier, the Dew Tour iON Mountain Championships in Breckenridge, and followed that up with his first major win at the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix at Copper Mountain. A second and a third at the final few events of the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth Mountain sealed his Olympic spot. Not qualifying for the Olympic halfpipe finals was definitely a disappointment for Gold, who was a medal favorite leading up to the games, but a Burton US Open win in front of a local Colorado crowd was a perfect way to end a remarkable season.
