 As a top finisher in slalom, giant slalom and super G at the 2011 Putnam Investments U.S. Alpine Championships and a 13th at the U.S. champs downhill Park City's Sydney Staples now follows older sister and NorAm champion Kiley Staples onto the U.S. Ski Team. It was an easy call for U.S. coaches after Staples finished top 25 in both downhill and super combined in the 2011 NorAm standings. Appropriately, the Staples sisters posed for photos together at the season-closing championships. Unfortunately for Sydney, early season training resulted in a torn MCL, forcing her to miss the 2012 winter. |
