![]() A student of the Stratton Mountain School and sibling to one of U.S. Snowboarding's finest riders, Serena Shaw had pondered a career in gymnastics before she set her sights on snowboarding. Almost immediately, she began tearing up the competition scene. In the 2011 season alone, Shaw checked off wins on the Rev Tour circuit and took a ninth in halfpipe as well as fifth in slopestyle during her first appearance in a World Cup competition. Such strong finishes landed her a spot on the U.S. Snowboarding Rookie Team. Shaw kept blazing through 2013 with an invite to FIS World Championships and a top ten at the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix in Park City. She won both slopestyle and halfpipe at the final stop of the U.S. Revolution Tour and took second at USASA Nationals. She also placed third at the U.S. Revolution Tour/U.S. Open qualifier, earning an invite to the prestigious Burton U.S. Open. SERENA SAYS FIRST TRACKS OFF THE SNOW |
