BIOGRAPHY:
Another member of the famous 'Skiing Cochran's' lineage, Robby Kelley is the son of Steve and Lindy Kelley – Lindy is a 1976 Olympian and eight year member of the U.S. Ski Team in the 70's. Older siblings Tim and Jessica have also been members of the U.S. Ski Team and have roots at the University of Vermont. Cousins Jimmy Cochran and Ryan Cochran-Siegle are currently members of the U.S. Ski Team.

Kelley may have the family legacy behind him, but this young upstart has the results to back it up and keep writing history. In his sophomore year at UVM, Kelley lit up the college carnival circuit en route to being named All-East First Team. He then rolled into the Putnam Investments U.S. Alpine Championships and finished sixth in the giant slalom behind heavy hitters like World Champion Ted Ligety.

ROBBY SAYS:
"Having fast siblings and cousins makes me want to be faster. I finally beat my big brother Tim in a GS, but I’m still trying to catch up to him in Slalom. It's going to be fun to train and race with Ryan next season. It's cool to be a part of the family legacy."

"Racing with UVM is great and definitely helps me take my skiing to the next level. Hopefully I can continue to be fast on the NorAm circuit and maybe get a few Europa Cup starts as well next winter."

FIRST TRACKS:
Growing up in Vermont, skiing at Cochran's Ski Area was a part of life. For Kelley, it started at age 2. In order to ski race, he split his high school experience between Mt. Abraham High School in Bristol, VT and the Mt. Mansfield Winter Academy in Stowe – playing traditional sports like soccer and baseball at Mt. Abraham in the fall and spring and spending the winters in Stowe at the Winter Academy. With mom and dad both as grads of UVM, it was the obvious next step before joining the U.S. Ski Team program with the 2012 season.

OFF THE SNOW:
It's all about sports – "baseball, soccer, football, basketball, you name it, I'll play it. Pretty much I'm playing sports during any free time I have." Also digs painting, drawing and playing his favorite instrument – the iPhone.
