Ski and Snowboard Club Vail athlete Katharine Irwin has only been running FIS events since 2010, the next year she won J2 nationals for both giant slalom and super G. The U.S. Development Team was the obvious next step. "It's exciting for my goals and dreams to be coming true," she said. "Everybody wants to make the U.S. Ski Team and go up from there." Going up for Irwin started immediately with on-snow camps at Mt. Bachelor before moving on to Mt. Hood and Chile before charging full-on into the NorAm season.
