          BIOGRAPHY
Squaw Valley Freestyle’s Ali Kariotis started dreaming of making the U.S. Ski Team at the age of ten. It only took her six years to get there thanks to a solid 2011 season on the NorAm tour (ranked fourth) including one victory and a fourth-place finish at the Junior World Championships in Finnland.

Kariotis became a junior world champion in 2012 by winning the dual moguls in Valmalenco, Italy after securing six NorAm podiums including her second career victory.  By the end of the season she had notched a career high second-place finish in the NorAm standings and pulled in a top-20 finish in just her third World Cup competition after her debut in January.

          ALI SAYS
I had a great time traveling last winter, and had tons of fun new experiences. I got to ski in my first ever world cups, and traveled around on the NorAm tour. I can definitely pinpoint the highlight to the closure of my season in Italy at Junior Worlds. It was a great event, from the course to the delicious Italian food!

I'm looking forward to the 2013 season as I would any other. I'm excited for this summer to get some water-ramping and training in to better prepare for next year. My primary goal for the summer is to improve in order to compete in some more World Cup-level events in the upcoming seasons.

          FIRST TRACKS
Kariotis began skiing when she was eighteen months old at Squaw Valley, California. She went through the Mighty Mite program at Squaw Valley, which prepared her for her introduction to freestyle competitions at age eight. “I had always loved skiing bumps and when I began to compete, I knew it was the sport for me,” she says.

          OFF THE SNOW
Kariotis enjoys being on the ocean, when she’s not on snow.  She spends her summers on Cape Cod where she goes to the beach, plays golf, tennis, water skis and wakeboards.
